CREDIBILITY

I really did not want to write further about this issue, but because of the kind of person i am, and some advice from a fellow blogger/friend..I have decided to. The kind of person i am...i totally believe in credibility..One thing i hate the most is to be mistaken or for someone to tell me i did when i did not. Y'all remember my post about Dapo Lam Adesina? "My ordeal with the ram". Anyway..Mr Dapo Lam found my blog..which i am glad he did. Well, he read the posts and was angry about some comments i had made that i reported things wrongly. Now i would list all the issues and analyze it and let y'all be the judge.

1. Ram issue
He (DLA) was mad because i used the word ram when referring to his dad and that i had insulted his dad.
My blog is for fun, i would not disrespect anyones father..those were the names his father was referred to when he was in office. If i wanted to talk about Obasanjo..i would list..oby, uncle sege, king kong etc...as they were the names he was referred to. However i did apologize if he felt i insulted his dad but stated that i would not change what i had written. (stubborn aint I)

2. Awarding Contracts
DLA was angry that i was spreading false rumor that his dad had awarded him a contract and he handled it badly. Abeg, that was what i heard....and I stated that was what i heard..abi if you did not get any contract... just say you did not..and we'll be the judge of either believing you or not. He decided to swear in the name of God to emphasize that it was a cooked up story.. You be the judge.

3. Rude
DLA had accused me of making blogville think he was rude to me with our conversations. Now i don't know how i can do that when i copied and pasted exactly what the conversations were word for word. I did not think he was being rude and i don't think i conveyed the message of him being rude....please blogville you be the judge

4. False information
This is where I was worried...he said i was giving people false information as to what really transpired on the groups forum and one of his friends made a comment on my blog calling me a liar. I repeat again..how can i distort copy and paste messages. Here is the link on the group ***** theres a lot of comments but you can can go look for yourself and be the judge of that.

There are other minor details but i don't want to get into every minor detail. This post is not to point fingers but only to let y'all be the judge if I Femi B, falsified anything.

Femi, yes u did apologize and i told you i was never pissed but remember i never asked you to change what you had written cos i am a supporter of freedom of the press. That is part of feeding people with wrong info.maybe you should try to be specific next time. Also the issue of bn rude kindly read some of the post on your blog and see how some of the people reacted. Some even said i need a Pr,maybe i dont know how to handle issues. That is why they might have to go to facebook and read by themselves to see that i never used any foul language even when u wanted to fire me but you were diplomatic about it.I have said it and will still say it that i respect your brain and person.

I actually read the post you did on the facebook group/confusion of male/female names post.

To say the truth, coming back now and seeing the comments "dapolam" left, I am confused by his rantings.

I don't still get what he is going on about...even here, what is he ranting about?

Abeg jare, fashi him and his yarns. I can not make head or tail of it either.

You have done nothing wrong. Frankly speaking, this dapolam guy must have way too much time on his hands to be coming here and leaving so many comments over nothing. Shouldn't he be in some "grassroots" village somewhere working amongst his people?

aloted said...

I just had to come back to say this

@Femi B...i think dapolam is taking away the shine from u on ur blog oooo... with all these "good" comments directed at him ;-)

@Dapolam- i recommend that u open a political blog ...i was raised in Ibadan and will like to know more about what u have in store for us. e se!

Okay... blogsville is definitely not a warzone, so I'll resist the urge to be 'uncouth'... I simply believe that certain Nigerians lack the inability to execute certain actions intelligiently. I find it quite preposterous that as a 'potential government candidate' to a state that houses the largest city in 'Black Africa', Dapo has acted quite 'unintelligently'... This is not personal, its quite simple actually... please read FB's initail post and please read the comments she left on the group and then kindly read 'what other group members have written' and then read what Dapo has written to them and the guys speak honestly.

FB didn't make any accusations on her blog, wasn't rude to DL, about false info... I really didn't see anything she had referred to in terms of 'actual actions he had taken'... people in his group are calling him' Theif thief... Liar liar' for chrissakes...

The truth is I'm not that big on politics... however what I do have a problem with is the sycophantic atitude nigerians decide to adopt when they see the slightest possibility of paper... Let's be honest and very true to ourselves, remember that certain people lost their lives for pretty much the same reasons... Remember 'Dele Giwa', 'Ken Saro Wiwa'...

I believe that DL could deal with this a lot more maturely and a lot more intelligently... the way to approach is not 'case closed' ... NEXT... and I'm not very sure it is to open an FB group and let people leave comments and then reply everyone individually. I very much doubt that it'll be the Nigerians in Diaspora (most of which are on FB) that will be voting u into govt. Isnt it the people at the grass roots, the ones that need clear water, the ones that don't have any laptops and no power, arent those the guys u need to focus on... and when we in Diaspora hear about the dramatic changes you have begun to put in place ... won't that just make us want to throw you into power... This is Nigeria , our Nigeria... DL, lets be true to ourselves and make a change... since u're quite pertinent about proving people wrong and u seem to have a lot of time for taking control of FB's blog (which I must say is not very proper)... create your own platform! ... why don't u take a look at blogs like Nigerains4change and put the time you have to some good use...

Oh FB.. sorry about the essay, this just really got to me!

dapolam said...

Ade adeyemi,i think you are wrong with your submission.Does it mean that because people on the internet might not vote then i should not be in touch with them? And how are you sure i am not in constant touch with the masses?I need not blow so much about what i am doing down here but sure you might need a visit to come and see for yourself. But i can assure you that as much as the masses are important even the people online are very important too.We should learn from the past and not let some individuals just go into the rural areas and deceive our people anymore.Anyone that is sincere must involve the educated 2.about the case closed issue, read well and see that it was not my making, people called for the case to be closed.

Ade Adeyemi said...

There really is no point is there?... DL... u simply won't get it would you?, I'm done here! ... my initial comment simply meant 'prove yourself and we'll ALL buy into you, the way to do it is simply not here and not with these words'... u can do it a whole load more intelligently... trust me, as someone who is planning to go into 'office'... u should be creating platforms anyways!

As much as I agree about the whole grassroots being the main electorate, I think "non-grassroots" might just be tired of the thugs and incompetent people we know as our leaders. I believe with the right candidate and ideas there could be an electorate revolution, i.e. kind of a class revolution not a clash but CHANGE! I know its not going to happen overnight but it could. Obama is doing so well because people that won't vote normally are putting him over the top. As for advice for Lam, learn from recent history, u're a young guy, learn from Donald Duke (i know he lost) He had a blog where he answered people's concerns and proposed his policies. CHANGE is coming, nothing is constant, overlooking the so called "Bodija, Jericho vote" might come back and bite u in the butt. Ppl are fed up with thugs running Naija esp Oyo.

I really dont see what DapoLam is ranting over.
this is why I love these facebook groups, there's always a chance to see what people feel about the people running for office and even have a chance to get to know them on an even personal basis.

@Femi B: nothing do you jare! i dont see what u've done wrong, I'm on fb at the moment doing my own lil fact checking

@Dapolam; it is obvious that u were not this cordial at the beginning, and when u saw how things played out u started extending the olive branch.
I dont think putting a manifesto on fb would make you a clown. Obviously you created the fb group to get support, and its even more obvious that u wont get it blindly, so you can just take the lessons you've learnt here and make some adjustments

I actually read all the wall posts from beginning to the end, and I must say I'm proud of u femi and Dapolam, I kept on saying "that's my fellow blogger!"

Buttercup said...

As people have stated, femi, u did nothin wrong...i guess dapolam reacted that way cos no one likes to be perceived negatively...

I really admire u femi!

Most of us here have been unfair to this guy and i understand its a friendship blog. But let me quickly warn dont let us continue this way if we want a better society. This guy has been matured enough in his way of handling this.Femi dont let people push you or you might regret that when u need them they wont be there anymore.Be matured that is my advice and warn all those people saying they are proud of you because you might live to face the same thing someday.i have checked the fb thing myself and not sure that guy is wrong.you created an impression that he told you to remove what you had wrote and he said he didnt say that, you didnt say nothing bout that. You wanted to blast him and u changed your mind.Put yourself in his shoes girl.we must all learn.

Femi B said...

tokunbo ajayi
I really don't know what all this is about. I never said that he told me to remove anything i wrote. See ..y'all need to read and comprehend very well at my message. I had spoken to him by an email message and told him i apologized if he felt i insulted his father. I told his friend (campaign manager/facebook admin) the same thing and also told the guy that i won't remove what i had written.

HOw else do you want me to explain it..he said i made a comment disrespecting his father..i told him that was not my intention and if he felt i had disrespected.... I am sorry . NOw what i wrote on my blog that you don't understand is that even though i had apologized about the "ram" thing i would not change it. Now how does that equate to me making people think he asked me to remove something. Please reread everything and understand before you blame me for anything.

SO you say you are proud of him for how he handled the matter...why can't my blog people be proud of me of my questions and my concerns for the greater Nigeria? I refused to answer somethings becos frankly i am tired of this back and forth. And i am tired of explaining what i write when people cannot understand me.

SO what exactly are you upset about because i previously wanted to blast him on facebook initially because I as a Nigerian i am tired of Bad leadership, but i cautioned myself and gave him the benefit of the doubt...or that people are saying they are proud of me for raising issues and asking him questions. SHOULD WE ALL SIT DOWN AND LOOK AND ACCEPT ANYONE RUNNING FOR OFFICE AND NOT QUESTION THEM..Let me tell you something, if i decide too run for office, i expect the same scrutiny and drilling to my intentions. HABA

madam LG don close this matter a long time ago and seriously it is becoming boring now. Besides Femi B has apologised to dapolam and moved on.. what more do u want from her????

...anyone that still has any issue about this should go and sort it elsewhere... We have kuku suggested to mr dapolam to open a blog..that way his supporters can take this issue there and thrash it out without us. As far as we are concerned this is a CLOSED issue.

Femi B pele jare...don't let anyone get to u...we dey ur side and we are very very proud of u..!

Abi we should call the elders of blogville to sort them out..lol

what can i say, me i am for questioning peoples motives(especially when they intend to occupy a political office) dont just say you want to do ABC. i want to know how u intend to do the ABC. if thats wat FB did, abeg fire on.

DL u seem sincere but FB's blog is not where u confront issue. blogging on blogger is free open, up a blog allow ppl dissect u, i can only make u better.

by the way tell that tokunbo fellow to watch his actions. if he is associated with u, in this day and age, what negative actions he takes is indirectly an action of urs.
